Anna Huger, MD
Born and raised in St. Louis, MO., Dr. Huger graduated from Villa Duchesne before moving on to Georgetown University. After graduating from Georgetown, she attended medical school at the University of Missouri before completing her pediatric residency at Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital.
Following this, she joined Mercy and established a successful pediatric practice. Dr. Huger’s focus on building caring relationships with her patients and their families, and really taking her time with each visit, resulted in her being honored with the Five Star Excellence Award for scoring in the top 10% nationally for patient satisfaction. Even more of an honor has been her growing list of second-generation patients. Many of the patients whom she began seeing when she started her practice have now become parents themselves, and have asked Dr. Huger to care for their newborns. As a pediatrician, there is really no greater honor than that.
Dr. Huger’s decision to join Washington University Physicians was the realization of a longtime dream to create a beautiful, nurturing environment for her patients and their families. When you walk into Purely Pediatrics, you’ll be greeted by fresh flowers, vibrant colors, wonderful music and smiling faces. It does not look or feel like a traditional doctor’s office…and that was the whole point.
By locating her office in the state-of-the-art Children’s Specialty Care Center, she is able to make referrals to a range of the best pediatric specialists in the country, all located right in the same building. Her patients absolutely love it. Whether she is performing a well-check or helping a patient, and their parents, to develop a plan for effectively managing a chronic health issue, Dr. Huger brings warmth, understanding and a wealth of general pediatrics expertise to each one of her families.
As a twins-mom, Dr. Huger has a deep understanding of the demands that raising twins can present. From getting new parents ready to welcome more than one baby to preparing them for what they can expect in those first few exciting months and beyond, Dr. Huger brings a uniquely personal perspective to her families that have been blessed with multiples.
Dr. Huger lives in Webster Groves with her husband, Paul, and their twin boys, Edward and George. Outside the office, she can be found chasing her two boys (and two puppies), travelling with her family and spending weekends at the family farm in St. Albans, MO. She also is a lover of children’s literature and maintains a constantly growing collection of Newberry Award winning children’s books. Whatever your child’s interests and reading level, chances are that Dr. Huger will have a wonderful reading recommendation.
She is currently accepting new patients.
